This place was a 10 in every aspect!! The service, the food, the drinks were all amazingly great!! Reservations are highly recommended. We are at the bar and thoroughly enjoyed talking with the bar tenders, who were very helpful with guiding us through the menu. The calamari was light and delicious! My Mother ordered the Fried Rice with lobster and she was extremely happy with how flavorful it was. I ordered the beef chow fun, which was tender and full of flavor as well. For desert we chose the Monkey King Bread, which was very good. I highly recommend this spot, which is a little tricky to find, but worth every single minute to get there!!
This is/has been one of my favorite restaurants in DC, but I was a bit disappointed with my most recent visit and the menu changes since I was last here. My two favorite items have been the Dan Dan noodles and the Mapo Tofu, both which I was very sad to see are no longer on the menu. This time, we got the cucumber salad (my favorite thing we had and also an OG fav), & the calamari which was good but wouldn't get it again. For entrees, we got the mushroom noodles dish and the Maine lobster fried rice. Both were good, but neither were amazing in my opinion. We'll be back to try some different items eventually, but would loooove to see our favorites return to the menu.
A good higher-end Chinese restaurant in Shaw. I recently went to Tiger Fork for a weekend dinner with two friends and was initially confused on where to find it, as the restaurant has no clear signage. Luckily it was still light outside or I would have had some difficulty finding Tiger Fork. I would only go during the daytime, as Blagden Alley is poorly lit at night, with a strong likelihood of seeing rats. Additionally, Blagden Alley is hard for ride shares to navigate, so I recommend planning accordingly if you plan on taking such a method. My friends and I were seated immediately upon our arrival at our reservation time and received good service throughout. Tiger Fork has a Chinese-themed ambiance, with the brick walls making the restaurant feel darker than it is. Tiger Fork recommends sharing dishes and my friends and I took this excellent advice. The food was good but nothing unique or spectacular. We shared the following dishes: Mushroom and Broccoli Dumplings: Dumplings were steamed very well, otherwise nondescript. Fried Tofu and Baby Bok Choy: A very good dish although a bit salty. A great balance of rice, tofu, egg, and vegetables. Sesame Noodles: The noodles were well-cooked and a good ratio of vegetables, noodles, and tofu. Roasted Mixed Mushroom: My favorite dish of the evening. The noodles were perfectly cooked, the sauce was delicious and not salty, and the mushrooms provided good umami. Duck: The duck was cooked medium-rare, Tiger Fork provided plenty of pancakes, and the vegetables were cooked properly. A good dish although a bit pricey at $38 for the portion size. Tiger Fork is pricey even when sharing dishes, although the portion sizes are somewhat generous for sharable dishes. Additionally, Tiger Fork Charges a 4% service charge on top of their menu prices which does not include tip, another example of a restaurant following the frustrating DC trend of confusing customers with hard-to-understand fees. While I'm glad I tried Tiger Fork, I would recommend Chang Chang or The Queen's English instead if you are looking for higher-end Chinese/Hong Kong cuisine in DC.
I visited Tiger Fork for dinner with a friend and it was packed! Food overall was good and the service was pretty good too. My only complaint, and this isn't really their fault, is that it's a bit tucked away and can be hard to find if you're going on foot/unfamiliar with the area. Aside from that, I would love to visit again the next time I'm in the area.
Tiger Fork is an absolute must-visit for anyone seeking an unforgettable dining experience. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a lively and cozy ambiance that sets the perfect tone for the evening. Let's talk about the food - the fish bao buns are simply incredible. Bursting with flavor and expertly crafted, they're a true standout on the menu. And paired with their fantastic cocktails, it's a match made in heaven. Speaking of cocktails, Tiger Fork doesn't disappoint in that department either. Each drink is carefully crafted and deliciously satisfying, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to your dining experience. Whether you're a local or just passing through, I can't recommend Tiger Fork enough.
A great experience definitely would recommend sitting at kitchen counter it's such a cool experience seeing the kitchen work and staff are super nice. One thing to note to find tiger fork is the red building with the neon sign. The restaurant is super cool inside and having lively feel big tables but definitely the kitchen table is the best spot. We got Mushroom & Broccoli Dumpling, fried rice with shrimp, chow fun with beef brisket, and crispy pork belly plate. The dumplings were delicious has a great spicy sauce on top and is rich and flavorful. Super tender but still firm enough doesn't fall apart. Fried rice with shrimp was also really good great flavor with the shrimp and fried pork. So good and delicious. Very savory and well cooked. Chow Fun with brisket was the best item. The noodles were perfectly cooked soft yet firm. The brisket was nice and crispy but still tender. Has a ton of great savory flavor. Crispy Pork belly was so good the sauce and vegetables was perfect mix. The pork was perfectly cooked and seasoned spicy and crispy but a rich savory flavor. The scallion sauce adds nice freshness and spiciness.
Came to Tiger Fork with some friends for a nice evening dinner. The ambiance and decor is absolutely stunning. I love the open kitchen and the vibe is just intimate but fun and inviting. Truly one of the best vibes I've gotten in dc restaurant. The service was also impeccable and shoutout to our server for making this place so fun. If the service and ambience weren't there I'd give this about a 3 stars for food. It was pricey for Chinese food but I wasn't sure if the price point was worth it. Chow fun- was pretty abundant and good. Beef was a little too tough but a filling meal and would get it. They weren't anything special, but good Chinese food. Monkeybread- this was a disappointment unfortunately. The sauce was pretty good but the bread itself was a bit stale. I wish it was stickier and the sauce permeated throughout the bread. Rice rolls- I could've devoured that as my meal, I loved it a lot and would get again.
Wow! Amazing! We had the menu. This included the day's special blue fin crudo, chilled sesame noodles, cucumber salad, chili wontons, beef brisket chow fun, green beans, char siu, and pork ribs. We were served by Colin, who was super attentive and made the best suggestions! While it was busy, it was not too loud. I hope to come back and experience Colin and the Kitchen again!
